School Information
McCook Beauty Academy was founded in 1953 by Evelyn Grubb and is the oldest privately owned beauty school in the state of Nebraska! In its long history of providing Cosmetology education for any student who can meet entrance requirements (without regard to race, religion, sex, national origin) The McCook Beauty Academy stands as a highly recognized institution of Cosmetology training in Nebraska.
Course Information
â—‹ Cosmetology Program: A total of 1800 credit hours are required by the school and state of Nebraska. Satisfactory grade point average in each course along with the completion of curriculum units is also required before graduation.
â—‹ Nail Tech Program: A total of 300 credit hours are required by the school and state of Nebraska. Satisfactory grade average in each course along with the completion of curriculum units is also required before graduation.
â—‹ Student Instructor Program: A total of 600 credit hours are required by the school and the state of Nebraska to receive instructor license.

Admission Information & Requirements
The director of the school receives and processes all enrollment applications and issues acceptance notifications subject to the Nebraska Department of Cosmetology, Lincoln Nebraska.
Requirements
- Applicant must have documentation of having completed the 10th grade, hold a high school diploma, or a G.E.D.
-All McCook Beauty Academy documents must be completed and signed
- A copy of applicant's birth certificate must be furnished to the Academy

Meet the Instructors
Ruth Lucas
After graduating from McCook Beauty Academy in 1973, Ruth continued her career by enrolling in the Instructors Program. After many years of teaching Mrs. Lucas decided to become the Head of Education for McCook Beauty Academy where she still continues to hold this title.
Jane Carlisle
Instructor of McCook Beauty for 15 years and Owner for 5 years. Jane is proficient in all areas of cosmetology and instructing.

Shawnda Carlisle
After graduating from McCook Beauty Academy in 2021, Shawnda went right into the Instructor's Course which she finished in December of that year!
